Reading books is my ultimate passion! I could forgo eating, drinking, and sleeping as long as I have a book in hand, regardless of its genre. My literary journeys primarily traverse through Tamil, Sanskrit, Hindi, and English languages.
Thiruvalluvar, in Tamil, penned a Kural that resonates deeply with me: கற்க கசடறக் கற்பவை கற்றபின் நிற்க அதற்குத் தக – khaRkha khajhaDhaRagh khaRphavai khaRRapin niRkha adhaRkhuth thagha. This translates to ‘Learn thoroughly whatever needs to be learned and adhere to what you have learned.’ This wisdom underscores the importance of selecting books that enrich our knowledge. While it’s perfectly fine to indulge in reading purely for enjoyment occasionally, we should prioritize books that offer us wisdom.
