I watched the Hindi movie “Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga” on Tuesday evening. I usually lack the patience to sit through a full movie, but I need something to watch while I eat. Having exhausted all my music and cooking shows, I decided to give this movie a try. I tend to avoid overly intense films, but this thriller, featuring both a heist and a hijacking, seemed intriguing enough.
The story had several unbelievable sequences that bordered on the absurd, but it was still entertaining. After all, I’m not seeking deep logic in a movie. What I loved about the film was the strong female lead who takes her revenge on the man who deceived her. Typically, female leads fall in love, get dumped, and end up crying or helpless, which can be frustrating to watch. In this story, however, the heroine turns the tables and gives the man a taste of his own medicine.
Yami Gautam was outstanding as the lead, making the film even more special. I’m not a feminist, but I dislike seeing women cry over men who deceive them in the name of love. I say, cut the crap! If you’re looking for a good entertainer, this movie is worth watching.
