When one is young, they seek adventure; when one is old, they seek security. Mahakavi Kalidasa eloquently describes the Raghus in these stages of life in his magnum opus:
This translates to, “In childhood, they (Raghus) learn diligently; in youth, they seek sensual pleasures; in old age, they live like sages; and in the final stage, they renounce their bodies.”
If we all follow this philosophy, we can embrace the different stages of life where adventure, security, and wisdom each have their place.
