मयाद्य गभीरविषयो’पाठि याचकानां विषये यस्मात् स्पष्टं यत् कस्मादपि कदापि किमपि न याचनीयम्। याच्यते चेत् ते नः तृणवन्मन्यन्ते। एतत् पद्यं प्रायशः चाणक्यनीतावस्तीति मन्ये।

तृणं लघु तृणात्तूलं तूलादपि च याचकः। वायुना किं न नीतो’सौ मामयं याचयिष्यति।।

तृणं लघु अस्ति परं तृणात् अपि तूलं लघुतरम्। तूलात् अपि लघुतरः याचकः परन्तु किमर्थं तर्हि वायुः याचकं न नयति यतोहि वायोः भीरस्ति यदिमं नयामि चेत् मत्तः किमपि याचत इति। कियान् कटुरस्ति किल? जीवने सर्वदा भगवन्तं स्मृत्वा तत्पादे भाव्यम्। अयमेव पन्थाः। महानवम्याः शुभाशयाः।

I recently came across a thought-provoking verse that reflects on those who constantly seek favors: “Grass is light, and lighter still is cotton, but a person who frequently asks for favors is lighter than cotton itself.” The question then arises—why doesn’t the wind blow them away? Perhaps the wind, too, is wary, fearing that they might start asking favors from it as well!

But let’s not dwell on a melancholic note. Instead, let’s celebrate the fact that we’ve learned another valuable lesson from Chanakya Niti. May we always strive to maintain the upper hand in every situation! Wishing a joyful Maha Navami to all those who celebrate.
