As I was browsing, I stumbled upon a captivating video showcasing an exquisite collection of luxury watches. Up until that point, my knowledge of high-end timepieces was limited to Rolex, a brand I had always viewed as an unattainable dream. Little did I know that this seemingly casual encounter would ignite an unforeseen journey into the mesmerizing world of horology.
As I delved deeper, the platform’s algorithms began tailoring my feed, inundating it with videos of luxurious watches. The allure was irresistible, and an insatiable desire to own one of these masterpieces took root. Driven by curiosity, I embarked on a journey of research, exploring authorized dealers in my vicinity and eventually deciding to visit one.
The authorized dealer I chose was renowned for its multiple stores, each housing a wide array of prestigious watch brands. Initially, my plan was to explore options like Tag Heuer or Breitling; the idea of Rolex hadn’t even crossed my mind. But on my way to the store, I caught sight of the dealer’s name, and an inexplicable urge to explore their offerings surged within me.
Upon entering the store, I was met with an unexpected revelation – the entire establishment was dedicated solely to Rolex watches. This realization caught me off guard. While I was aware of Rolex’s exclusivity and premium pricing, I hadn’t anticipated discovering a haven devoted entirely to Rolex. The authorized dealer engaged me in a warm conversation about watches, horological movements, and intricate details. At that time, my understanding of the watch world was still fairly basic.
Inside the serene ambiance of the store, only two watches were on display – a Datejust 40MM with a black dial and a Milgauss. The dealer presented these timepieces as opportunities waiting to be seized. The temptation was strong, but the price tags exceeded my budget. When I expressed my hesitation, the dealer graciously explained the intricacies of watch movements, the importance of in-house movements versus ETA, the historical heritage, intrinsic value, and service intervals. The conversation left a lasting impression, and as I exited the store, I realized that watches were much more than mere timekeeping tools; for a woman, they could be a piece of jewelry.
Since then, I have been visiting malls to admire watches, like today, learning about them, and perhaps one day, I’ll even start my own collection. That’s what prompted me to write this post today. Anyways, on that positive note, I’m ending my post here.
