Ok, folks, strap in-this is the post you’ve all been waiting for (or at least the one I’ve been waiting to write)!
So, I decided to channel my inner Da Vinci and take on the ancient art of Tanjore painting. My subject? None other than Andal, the legendary poet-saint and the only female Alvar in the lineup. I was convinced that somewhere deep inside me, there was a great artist just waiting to break out-probably hiding under a pile of unfinished doodles and a drawer full of glitter glue.
For three whole months, I dedicated myself to this project. There were highs (when the gold foil actually stuck), lows (when the gold foil definitely did not stick), and moments of pure panic (when I realized I’d accidentally turned Andal’s necklace into a modern art installation). But every second was worth it. I laughed, I cried, I learned that “patience” is not just a virtue, it’s a survival skill.
Honestly, I loved every minute-even the ones spent Googling “how to fix gold foil on canvas.” This piece was created with love, devotion, and the occasional prayer to the art gods for a steady hand.
Check out the pics below for a front-row seat to my artistic rollercoaster-from “what have I done?” to “I might actually be a genius (or at least a decent beginner).” Enjoy! 😄

And of course, where else would I tag it other than Fashion? (Because, let’s be honest, Andal’s jewelry in this picture is on point-and I’m taking all the credit for that bling!)
