मम संस्कृताध्ययने भोजप्रबन्धस्थं किञ्चित् सुभाषितमदर्शि यन्मह्यं रोचते। भोजराजचिन्तनमिति मन्ये। कालिदासस्य किञ्चित् पद्यं निशम्य भोजराजस्य पत्नी अविह्वला मन्दहासं धरति यद् वीक्ष्य भोजराज आश्चर्यचकितः। तदा स एवं चिन्तयते।

अश्वप्लुतं वासवगर्जितं च स्त्रीणां च चित्तं पुरुषस्य भाग्यम्।अवर्षणं चाप्यतिवर्षणं च देवो न जानाति कुतो मनुष्यः।।

पदविभागः – अश्वप्लुतम्, वासवगर्जितम्, च, स्त्रीणाम्, च, चित्तम्, पुरुषस्य, भाग्यम्, अवर्षणम्, च, अतिवर्षणम्, च, देवः, न, जानाति, कुतः, मनुष्यः।

अस्य पद्यस्यार्थः – अश्वः कदा अनियन्त्रणं धावतीती, कदा मेघः गर्जतीति, महिलानां चित्ते किं प्रचलतीति (lol) पुरुषस्य भाग्यं कदा भवतीति, अनावृष्टिः कदा भवतीति, अतिवृष्टिः कदा भवतीति देवः अपि न जानीते तर्हि केवलानां मनुष्याणां बुद्धेः दूरस्थः विषयोयं नन्विति भोजराजः चिन्तयति। 

अत्र मुख्यः विषयः स्त्रीणां चित्ते किं प्रचलतीति देवोपि न जानाति :) नन्विदं तथ्यम्। इदं प्रतिपादितुं भोजराजेन कियन्तः विषयाः नः बुद्धेः दूरस्थाः इति सूचिताः।

In a verse from the “Bhojaprabandha,” Bhojaraja contemplates the unfathomable nature of a woman’s mind, positing that there exist mysteries in the world that even deities cannot decipher. He lists phenomena such as the unpredictable gallop of a horse, the sudden roar of a cloud, the intricate workings of a woman’s thoughts, the fluctuating fortunes of men, and the occurrences of droughts and floods as enigmas beyond divine comprehension. His musing comes in response to his wife’s amused reaction to an audacious verse recited by Kalidasa, leaving Bhojaraja in a state of bemused resignation. He humorously acknowledges the futility faced by mortals in attempting to understand the depths of women’s minds. This episode serves as a lighthearted reminder to all who endeavor to decipher such intricacies: you are not alone in your quest, yet perhaps it is an endeavor best left unexplored. :)
