Today was another eventful day, marking the start of my Sanskrit classes for the academic year. I’m teaching two classes this time—a beginner and an intermediate level. For the past decade, I’ve mostly taught intermediate and advanced levels, so stepping back into the beginner’s class after so long was surprisingly enjoyable, maybe even more fun than the advanced sessions. Three hours flew by, with each class running for 1.5 hours.
By the end of it, I realized I had racked up 5,000 steps and covered 3 miles just from teaching! Yet another perk of in-person classes! ( And yes! I’ve hit my 10,000-step goal for the day! ;))
Next week, my advanced online class kicks off, and in October, I’ll be teaching youth. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve taken on too much, but I thrive on being busy. As the saying goes, “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” Plus, teaching Sanskrit gives me immense satisfaction—there’s always something new to learn when you teach!
