Finally, I found time to post something today and that too from the Bhattikavya so here we go –

न तज्जलं यन्न सुचारुपङ्कजं न पङ्कजं तद्यदलीनषट्पदम्
न षट्पदोऽसौ न जुगुञ्ज यः कलं न गुञ्जितं तन्न जहार यन्मनः ॥

Such a beautiful verse taught by my Guru as a standalone verse.

अर्थः – तत् जलं वा तडागो वा नास्ति यत्र पङ्कजानि न भवन्ति, नास्ति तत् पङ्कजं यस्मिन् अलयः न भवन्ति, सोलिः नास्ति यन्न कुरुते गुञ्जनम्, तत् गुञ्जनम् यत् अस्माकं मनः न हरतीति। पूर्वस्मात् पादात् एकैकपदं स्वीकृत्य तस्य वैशिष्ट्यमुक्तमत्र।

भट्टिकाव्यं तु रामायणमेव परं तत्र व्याकरणांशाः, अलङ्काराः च अन्तर्भूताः यस्य पठनेन गीर्वाणभारतीविद् भवेम। अद्य यदृच्छया मम दृष्टिगोचरे पतितमिदं पद्यम्।

Translation –

Water is not truly water
Unless it bears a lotus fair;
The lotus is not fully a lotus
Without the six-legged bee it bears.
The bee itself is no bee
Without its humming song;
And the hum itself is meaningless
Unless it steals the heart along

शुभं भूयात् सर्वेभ्यः।
